How can you dispose of old medication?


​Old or unneeded medication can be disposed of in a few ways. An easy option is to order a free envelope to mail your medicines in.

Depending on your location, you can also take the medication to a drop-off bin at your local pharmacy or sheriff station in their original container or a sealed bag. Not every city or pharmacy will offer this.

The medications will be incinerated and properly disposed of to prevent environmental contamination.

-Pills and capsules

​-Liquids

-Creams and ointments

-Eye drop bottles containing medication  (empty bottles can be recycled with other plastics)


All these items should be kept in the original container or placed in a sealed bag.
